West Virginia Sport Touring

Hello all,

Hoping to get to West Virginia several different weekends this summer. Rode across your fine state last September going to Front Royal, VA. What I saw, I know I need to get back and explore a lot more.

Rode Skyline Drive and about half of Blue Ridge Parkway before getting rained out last September. Great ride during the week. Detoured up through Shady Valley, TN. The Snake is great!

Heading to Eastern Kentucky first full week of April (hope for dry weather). Going to ride Black Diamonds, Booneville Twists and Kingdom Come (MADMAPS). Will probably try to get back down to Shady Valley that week too.

I ride a 2006 Suzuki VStrom 650. Also have a 2006 Kawasaki Ninja 250 I play around with. Not fast but fun bikes. Big fan of the GSXR 750 but have to protect my license for my job. In the mid 80's had a Kawasaki 750 Turbo. I get harassed alot less on my VStrom.

Hope to maybe meet up with some of you this summer. That is if you don't mind riding with an old guy on a VStrom. I Will post when ever I can head that way. Looking forward to exploring around your beautiful state.

Welcome to the forum Stacy. shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh don't tell anybody about the roads here. The riding here is one of the best kept secrets.
My name is Jeff ( jeffro) I'm bikless right now ( but looking ) my chase harper tail trunk come undone last fall and lodged between the rear tire and swingarm on my 02 gsxr1k while taking a little detour on I77 and locked the rear tire up and skidded about 150 yards or so before the the rear blew and sent me off onto the pavement.
i hope to have another bike within the next month or so. hit me up when you come this way and f i can't meet up with you i can at least give you some routes to take.
