the http://www.claygoldendeliciousfestival.com/ this must be the big event of the year there. the town was packed. people were parking their cars and wlaking about a maile back into town. they had a bike show in town and a car show at the high school. it waoul have been nice to have had the time to stop. some of the cars looked pretty nice.
after making it through there " thank god we made it through when we did. they were having a parade" we ran rt4 all the way up to sutton where we hit rt15. rt 15 was a litle ruff at first but the in smoothed out for a fun little ride through some sweepers. after about 30 miles of nice smooth pavement we merged with rt20 and it is a mess. it has needed paved now for about 3-4 years.. rt 20 and rt15 splits off again in webster springs. we took rt15 over to rt219 and about half way i noticed a hinda shadow on the side of the road that had just been down. i stopped to turn around to see if the guy need help and dave just about t-boned me.. lol. i got out my trust electrical tape and some tools and got the guy back on the road. rt15 was a little nipply across the mtn tops..
we made it to rt219 and headed south to marlinton for some lunch/dinner. i think the waitress liked dave. she really went out of her way to make sure dave got warm.. lol she even gave him a york pepermint pattie as we were checking out..
we got back on the bikes ate headed back down rt219 to lewisburg whre brian stopped to get a shirt to wear under his jacket and headed back to charleston. dave and i came on back home through alderson and hinton clocking just over 310 miles..
OH BY THE WAY IF YOU EVER WANT TO FISH THE GREENBRIER IN MARLINTON I SUGGEST YOU USE FRENCH FRIES AS BAIT.. LOL
